The trp operon is a segment of DNA that is involved in the regulation of expression of the enzymes involved in tryptophan synthesis in e. coli. The sculptures was made for the Rochester Museum and Science Center and clearly shows the major and minor groove of DNA. The sculpture is made of polished stainless steel and stands 32 inches above a granite base.
